Silicone transfer foil is an indispensable auxiliary material in the production of hot-fix motifs, which significantly facilitates the production, transport and application process. Foil designed for arranging any patterns from the most popular hot-glued decorations, e.g. glass rhinestones, faceted stones, metal half-pearls, conical and flat plates.
The main task of the foil for motifs is to stabilize and protect the arranged pattern against movement during laying, transport and pressing of the finished pattern. The foil consists of two layers: one with glue, which holds the thermo decorations, and the other - protective, enabling the transport of the finished pattern.
1st method of application: using tweezers, we arrange the selected pattern immediately on the sticky side of the foil, with the top of the glue stones. Then we turn the foil over and apply it to the decorated clothing in the place of application. Iron through a cotton cloth with an iron at 150°C (2-3 dots) for 10-15 sec. Then repeat the operation on the "left" side of the fabric. In the next step, gently remove the transfer foil. We wait for the decorations to cool down and check if they do not detach from the material. If so, we do the heating again (maybe a higher temperature is needed).
2nd method of application: we put the motif we are interested in on the material or table, this time with the glue down. Then, carefully, so as not to move the rhinestones, we apply the transfer foil with the adhesive layer to the stones. We apply the applied pattern to the fabric in the place where we want to get the pattern. Iron through a cotton cloth with an iron at 150°C (2-3 dots) for 10-15 sec. Then repeat the operation on the "left" side of the fabric. Turn to the "right" side and gently remove the transfer foil. We wait for the decorations to cool down and check if they do not detach from the material. If so, we perform the action until the effect (maybe a higher temperature is needed).
If the finished pattern needs to be transported, it should be "closed" with a layer of white, embossed foil, which will protect the motif during transport.
The real differences between transfer foils are mainly hidden in the production process and chemical composition. However, you can see at first glance that in the case of the silicone foil, the embossed, white protective layer has been replaced with paper. Thanks to this solution, the motif is stabilized much better than in the case of traditional solutions. The specificity of the adhesive is similar to acrylic foil - it holds firmly and leaves the motif smoothly and efficiently.
